Chaplain/Clergy Credentials

NOTE: Board Certification is through a different division and is a seperate professional designation than Chaplain Ecclesial Credentialing.

Chaplain Ecclesial Credentialing Candidate Preliminary Information.

Successfully completed Ecclesial Chaplain applications will be followed by a credentialing interview either in person or via ZOOM. You will be notified within 48 hours that your application has been received and is under review. When the review is completed you will be contacted to set up the interview. All applicants must agree with SCCN’s Statements of faith, belief, Mission and Values.

Chaplain Ecclesial Credentialing Minimum Requirements

Level 1:  Community/Volunteer Chaplain Credentials, will require the successful completion of the introductory Community/Volunteer Chaplains Training.

Level 2:  Licensed Chaplain candidates will require successfully completing CPE 100 through an accredited CPE program such as SCCN’s fully accredited program with (CPEI.edu).

Level 3: Commissioned/Ordained Chaplain requires four semesters of CPE from a fully accredited CPE program. If you do not have the required CPEs you may enroll in SCCNs CPE program. Once successfully completed and accepted by SCCN you can receive Ecclesial Chaplain Ordination through SCCN.

Board Certification Chaplain Credentials may be applied for with our affiliate, (CPEI.EDU) after completing four CPEs if other requirements such as academic degrees, successfully completing the application and paperwork and passing the examining board are met.* Having academic degrees Chaplaincy Credentials and Completing four CPEs does not guarantee Board Certification or working full time as a Chaplain.  There may be other qualifications required by the employer. Click on the green button below to get started!
